significant events in the 2020 protest movement. Originally, the plan
was to gather at the Ratchaprasong Intersection. However, when several
police units established a presence at the Ratchaprasong Intersection
and set up barricades to prevent the gathering, the location was moved
to the Pathumwan Intersection. Later, the police announced that the
protesters must disperse, citing a declaration of a serious emergency
situation that included restrictions on gatherings of more than five people.
Subsequently, riot police equipped with shields and batons moved
from the Chaloem Phao Intersection toward Rama 1 Road, heading
for the Pathumwan intersection, where the protesters had gathered.
Using loudspeaker vehicles, the police ordered the protesters to return
home immediately and prepared to deploy high-pressure water-spraying
vehicles to disperse the crowd. Some protesters held umbrellas in an
attempt to resist the water pressure while others began throwing objects
at the police. In response, the police sprayed a blue substance that
smelled like gas into the crowd, causing protesters and media personnel
to experience a burning sensation in their eyes and on their skin. Everyone
had to use drinking water to wash their faces and eyes. As a result of the
use of the "blue water," the protesters began to retreat.
Meanwhile, the police continued to advance slowly, extending
their control to more areas around Siam Paragon Mall and Siam Center.
Eventually, protest leaders announced that the demonstrators would
