4. Case Study of Communication to Create

Social Justice

Communication can create problems in society and potentially

lead to social crises, such as conflicts. Divisions in society can become
so obvious that harmonious discussions become difficult. The influx of

untrustworthy information complicates the ability to distinguish facts
from falsehoods. To address this issue, two important case studies are

presented. First, the case study of communication during political conflicts
focuses on the events surrounding the destruction that occurred during

the new generation political protests on October 16, 2020. This incident
witnessed the widespread dissemination of fake news on social media.

The other case study examines communication during the COVID-19
outbreak. This period also saw the proliferation of stirring information in

society."
