4. Challenges and the current integrated inspection system
In today’s rapidly changing society, five aspects of the integrated inspection system need to
adapt: inspection in accordance with area-based management; useful application of technology and
information in the inspection system; inspection with good governance; connected and integrated
inspection system; and inspection for risk reduction.

Generally, informants agreed that integrated inspection is effective at moderate level. The aspect
rated at good level is inspection for risk reduction (mean 6.99, SD = 2.04). Both inspection with good
governance (mean 6.11, SD = 2.42) and inspection in accordance with area-based management (mean
6.10, SD = 1.78) are rated at high level. The aspects called connected and integrated inspection system
