           1. Case Study of Inequality in the Justice Process


                  This section presents an analysis of inequality in the justice process

           through three case studies:

                  •  inequality in the justice process in the case of Krue Se - Tak Bai,

                      concerning unrest in the southern border provinces of Thailand;

                  •  differences in political ideologies among the young and

                      discrimination in the justice process;

                  •  justice in criminal investigation for society





           1.1 Inequality in the Justice Process: Krue Se - Tak Bai,
           and unrest in Thailand’s southern border provinces


                  Background

                  Inequality in the justice process, especially in the southern border

           provinces of Thailand, must be taken into account. Justice process and

           government officials’ work in specific areas is called "People's Partnership"
           to solve the ongoing unrest in the southern border provinces of Thailand.
           However, many events have revealed unfairness or delayed justice.


                  The Krue Se incident reflected violence leading to the
           highest number of casualties in the 18-year period of the Southern
