professionals who were members of the parliament, totaling seven individuals.
The third group represented the public and included participants from various regions.
The researcher conducted meetings with this group in a World Café setting, and there
were four meetings. The number of participants varied based on the specific region.
The informants were chosen through a purposive sampling method, resulting in
a total of 103 participants. The research methodology involved using a questionnaire
that was modified to align with the functioning mechanism of the parliament as specified
in the 2017 Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand. The questionnaire was divided
into two parts. Part one solicited basic demographic information of the respondents,
specifically gender, age, education, and occupation, with a total of four questions.
Part two comprised the questionnaire on the parliament’s operations in six dimensions.
Each dimension consisted of several sub-components, totaling 34 sub-components.
Within each sub-component, there were a total of 89 sub-questions. The six dimensions
were as follow:
1) Representation of the people (code R), with four sub-components with 19
sub-questions;
2) Legislative functions (code L), with five sub-components with 16 sub-questions;
3) Management functions (code O), with five sub-components with 15 sub-questions;
4) Transparency and accessibility of the parliament (code T), with eight sub-components
with 14 sub-questions;
5) Accountability of the parliament (code A), with five sub-components with 10
sub-questions;
6) International policy participation (code I), with seven sub-components with 15
sub-questions.
The research team conducted quantitative data analysis using inferential statistics
including percentages, mean values, and standard deviations. In terms of qualitative
research methodology, the researchers organized a focus group activity in the form of
a World Café, which aims to delve into various details to enhance understanding at
a profound level. Through this process, participants in the World Café were able
to present their reasoning along with self-identified evaluation results, allowing for
a comprehensive understanding of underlying causes and outcomes. The subgroup division
in the World Café was arranged to ensure that participants were distributed across different
subgroups and rotated until they had participated in all groups. This approach increased
