and political groups; 2) activities and political behavior of the candidates; 3) roles of government

The research not only surveys and records political phenomenon, especially

phenomenon concerning political activities and electoral behavior in the 2019 general
election in Bangkok, but also analyzes these political phenomena in the context of Bangkok,

and implies a link between the findings in Bangkok and the national level.

The points of significance of Bangkok in the general election of 24 March 2019 are:
             1) Bangkok has the largest number of seats (30 seats out of 350 seats in total); 2) Bangkok is

the national center of politics, administration, the economy, and society; 3) Bangkok has been
the site of political struggle between the two major national political parties since 2001 (that is

the Democrat and Pheu Thai parties) while also at this time there were two emerging popular
political parties that were also looking for victory in Bangkok (the Palang Pracharat and the

Future Forward parties); and 4) the new election MMP framework led to a competitive election
campaign atmosphere, as every vote counted.
