rights, respect to different views, recognition of the organization’s interest, and respect to

               public rules and regulations.
                                      5) Non-profit organizations. This group usually sets up the

education models or activities that help promote the democratic qualifications based on the

same interest, encourage the democratic values, and recognize the interest or impact to the
communities and country, e.g. ENLAWTHAI Foundation, Foundation for the Promotion of

               Public Policy Studies, etc.

                                      6) Mass media. This group plays an important role in providing
knowledge and understanding of the political system and democracy regime to people in

the country, and in providing other information linked to the economic, social, cultural and

environmental system. Other important roles of the mass media are to monitor and be the
mediator for examining and presenting any inequality in the society. Mass media is also an

important tool for checking any improper exercise of power by the government and

authorities, and presenting it to the public.
                                (1.2) Local level

                                      1) Family. Family puts influence on children’s self-development and

personalities. Family also shapes and refines children’s insight and attitude towards the
community, society, politics and culture. The families in a democratic community usually

allow children to present their creativity and be strong to show their different ideas or

actions based on rationality. These children are also encouraged to learn about their roles,
duties and responsibilities to themselves, family and society until they are an integral part of

their daily life, which will further help refine and develop these children to be the good

               citizens under the democratic regime.
                                      2) Community. The citizens in each local community must be

improved in order that they are able to manage themselves and require less support from

the central government. In this regard, the citizens at all levels should be encouraged to
have responsibility while the power of the central government should be decentralized

because it is impractical that the central government would be able to manage all matters

in different cultures and ways of life in each local area appropriately. Every local community
should have autonomy to design and plan for its development and strength in the

economic, social, and political domains. The central government’s burden and

responsibilities would be decentralized and undertaken by community people and local
