            Besides those built by the government, there were two other categories of roads:
                   1.  Public roads built by local people, e.g. the road to the top of Doi Suthep in Chiang-
            mai, constructed in 1934 under the leadership of Khru  Ba Sri Vijaya, a highly respected monk.
                   2.  Roads built by the private sector holding concessions from the government.

            The  Memorial  Bridge,  built  in  1932  to  celebrate  the  150th  Anniversary  of  the  Founding  of
            Bangkok by King  Rama I.  The bridge has been the main link between Bangkok and  Dhonburi,
            contributing greatly to the economic and commercial development of Siam.

            A memorandum to  the  King  concerning The  Habour Scheme discussed at the  meeting of The
            Council of Ministers in July 1931 , resulting in a draft decree for a reserve zone in Samutprakarn.
                   On the advice of experts from the League of Nations in  1934, a modern habour was
            built at Klong Toey, Bangkok, instead of the originally proposed site in Samutprakarn.

            Aviation, initiated during  King  Rama VI's reign, made great strides  in  King  Prajadhipok's  reign.
            Don Muang Airport, built in 1914, was modernized, with up to date equipments.
