Content is generally displayed based on algorithms of search
engines, which process content in a way that makes it likely that users
encounter information from social networks with similar opinions or
viewpoints. These algorithms align with user interactions, relationships,
and predictions based on past behavior and interests. Consequently,
stirring information can proliferate online without being fully aware of,
eventually be accepted as accurate, or even become an inherent part
of one's identity by default.
(4) Receivers
When receiving information, interpretation of that information
depends on various factors, including how significant it is, level of
understanding, background and experiences, and attitudes and beliefs.
All of these elements influence how receivers engage with and respond
to information. It is important to learn whether, during the COVID-19
outbreak, information was verified or intentionally distorted to undermine
the government's credibility.
Factors Contributing to Issues
(1) The COVID-19 outbreak was new, dynamic, and uncertain at
the time, resulting in different findings of research and multiple datasets
appearing consistently.
