4. Recommendations for the development

of power relations of the Thai Senate for

being an institution that plays a role in
enhancing and developing the strength of

          Thailand’s political system and democracy

Senators are still essential to the Thai political system
as an organization that balances power, both in the legislative

dimension and in other functions and powers, especially the
examination of the exercise of state power. However, in addition to
the problem of acceptance of the origin of the senators according

to the provisions of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand,
B.E. 2560 [2017], the legislation of the duties and powers of

the senators is still problematic in regard to social acceptance,
especially in the view that the Senate is a tool for the power
succession of the National Council for Peace and Order or NCPO,

resulting in an development of Thai democracy, especially the role
in accordance with the transitional provisions of the constitution

providing the duties and powers on national reform and voting on
the Prime Minister. Thus, in order to improve social acceptance
development, it is necessary to define duties and powers, including

the appropriate roles of senators. Senators’ duties and powers,
including their appropriate roles, should be revised and framed as

          follows:
