4. Approval of a suitable person to be appointed as
Prime Minister
For suggestions on the roles of the senators from studies
and surveys of individual opinions, it was found that the senators
should play the following roles:
1. Have political independence and courage
2. Maintain impartiality and good governance in the
performance of their duties
3. Examine the exercise of authority of government
agencies as required by law for the maximum benefits
of the people
4. Listen to the people’s problems when appealing for
justice for the public
5. Develop and disseminate knowledge about the
democratic regime of government with the King as
the Head of State
6. Perform individual duty based primarily on the public
interest
Recommendations on the effectiveness of the performance
of the Senate’s duties are the implementation of mechanisms for
sanctions and monitoring the operation of an organization or other
person to whom the Senate submits the results of studies, reports,
recommendations, or objections. Action would be taken after receiving
the results of studies, reports, recommendations, or objections,
and the outcome discussed.
