                    It can be said that the relationship between the two kingdoms was very
                    prosperous at the time. The relationship was gradually in decline due to
                    a number of factors such as Japan’s shutdown policy called “Sakoku” by

                    Tokugawa Shogun in 1633 A.D., political transitions in Ayutthaya Kingdom,
                    and after the second loss of Ayutthaya Kingdom in 1767 A. D.



                             Another important piece of evidence to emphasize on the
                    Japanese roles in the Siamese royal court is the mural of Yom Temple in
                    Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The painting contains the Japanese

                    militia as part of King Narai’s royal procession.
