such as supportive environment, legislation, rules, clubs, guidance, conversation, intermediaries in
disputes, music, sports, and art activities leading to a sustainable peace culture with the network
and a concrete participation process
The TUNA ACT Model is introduced as an integrated model of a culture of peace in
educational institutions. The main characteristics of Tuna are living in groups, swimming fast, and
containing diversity. Moreover, tuna’s meat is delicious and tender with economic value. These can
be applied as a guideline to promote a culture of peace in educational institutions.
TUNA ACT Model for promoting a culture of peace consists of: 1) thinking environment
(supportive environment for learning); 2) understanding of people; 3) non-violence; 4) accepting
diversity; 5) action; 6) conflict analysis/context; and 7) tools for managing conflicts . The author has
written this rhyming sentence: “guiding with a peace culture, building understanding among us,
communicating through a thinking environment, and promoting a willingness.”
3.2 To apply a model for creating a culture of peace in educational institutions for
training in pilot schools
A model for a culture of peace in educational institutions is to be introduced in four sessions
of training at the pilot schools. The attendants in the first session are the lecturers and administrators
of the pilot schools on May 18-19, 2022, and the rest aim at students from secondary schools,
vocational schools, and universities.
3.2.1 Promoting a culture of peace in educational institutions by providing training
for administrators and faculties of the pilot School on May 18-19, 2022 and followed by the target
groups of students from primary school, secondary school, vocational school, and higher education.
35 participants divided into 26 men and 9 women have greater understanding and knowledge of a
culture of peace after receiving the training. The results of the questionnaire are better after the
training. The correct answers are almost two times higher. Additionally, participants show a negative
attitude towards violence at all levels.
The results from brainstorming the insights of the conflicts suggest the participatory
action plan as follows: 1) reporting to the administrators; 2) arranging a meeting for all the involved
parties; 3. establishing an operating committee; 4) carrying out the relevant activities to the
knowledge of a peace culture for faculties and school personnel to conduct a proper procedure or
instruction for their institutions; 5) evaluating and reporting the results of the activities and projects;
