In terms of the NL, applicants are required to pass all
3 parts of the examination which are to be organised by the
Center for Medical Competency Assessment and Accreditation
(CMA), under Medical Competency Assessment Criteria for
National Licensure B.E. 2555 (2012) announced by TMC. Part I
and II examinations concern basic medical science and clinical
science respectively where the candidates must hold a
certificate from the medical school that he has full filled all
subjects of pre-clinical science according to the curriculum for
not less than 2 semesters. The examinations are separately
scheduled twice a year and offered at several locations including
Bangkok and other key provinces. Part III concerns MEQ (Modify
Essay Question) and Long Case examination/OSCE (Objective
Structure Clinical Examination) where the candidates must pass
Part I and II examination within 7 years and hold the recognised
license to practice medicine from aboard. Part III examination
is a half-day examination given 3 times a year.
