3.1.2. License/Registration
According to the AJCCM 2015 Goals and the objectives
of the MRA, member states of ASEAN have agreed on a policy
for temporary licensing and registration for foreign MPs in 5
designated categories. These include limited practice covering:
expert visits, education and training, humanitarian missions, and
research. In Thailand, the temporary license is valid for 1 year,
but it is renewable and granted only for practice under the
supervision of a fully-licensed Thai MP. In doing so, they have
to obtain valid license to practice from the country of origin
and the application has to be submitted from the director of
the government organization/hospital. 60
Foreign MP who want to independently practice in
Thailand would need a full medical license. There are 3 principle
requirements for obtaining a permanent such license:
admission to membership in the TMC; certificate from the
recognised university where he or she has graduated along
with a valid medical license from the country of graduation;
and successfully passing of all 3 parts of the National Licensing
Examination of Thailand (NL). If the medical school is not
