(3) monopolies increase prices of goods and services to increase their
incomes; (4) reduced choices of products and services leading to an
oligopoly market; (5) dissatisfaction from unfair competition among
producers, small business operators, and consumers, probably leading
to lawsuits; (6) a monopoly of the supply chain in the same product
or service by large business groups, destroying other relationships with
other businesses.
4) Risks include: (1) monopoly of basic public utilities,
related to all types of business operations; (2) gaps in the law causing
unfair competition and intensifying consumers with few choices and
no bargaining power.
5) The proposed measures include: (1) inspection by independent
organizations through parliamentary mechanisms or a special commission
appointed by the council to play a crucial role in rulings according to
the public interest as well as to make annual performance reports to
parliament to establish checks and balances; (2) amendments to the 2017
Trade Competition Act to become more comprehensive for considering
trade competition cases with clear and sufficient purposes in promoting
fair competition; (3) amendments to the provisions regarding consumer
protection in terms of costs and defamation lawsuits against those who
