5. Political management of the election of Chief Executive of the PAO and
Members of the PAO Council: It found that the Election Commission of Nakhon Si
Thammarat and related organizations both in public and private sectors held the
meeting to prepare the election in accordance with the guidelines of PAO election

management structure. The examples of activities to prepare before the election were
as follows: the meetings were held to give understanding about guidelines and
preparation of the election of Chief Executive of the PAO and Members of the PAO
Council, the management of polling places, announcement to approve the candidates

of Chief Executive of the PAO, providing the training for the candidates from both 2
groups to give understanding about styles, methods of campaign for voting under the
theme “Harmony of Election for Member of the PAO Council and for Chief Executive of
the PAO”.

At the same time, private sectors and educational institutions cooperated to
organize the debate stage under the topic “The Election of PAO—Give The Power Back
To People”. The purpose of this debate stage was to give opportunities to the

candidates of Chief Executive of the PAO to present their visions and policies to people
who would use information from this debate stage to make their decision in voting.
Moreover, from the follow up of the work of the Election Commission in
providing the election of Chief Executive of the PAO and Members of the PAO Council, it
found that the election was clearly organized. However, there were complaints about

vote buying in some areas.
