competition and intensive environment. This was because there were 8 candidates
applying for Chief Executive of the PAO but there would be only 1 person elected. Like
the members of the PAO Council, there were 155 candidates applying for but there
would be only 42 members to be elected. The candidates, thus, actively campaigned

for votes by visiting the election areas to introduce themselves and publicize their
policies to people through different styles of public relations. This aimed at providing
information to people who would use this information to make their decision on the
election day. The examples of different ways which the candidates used for voting were

as follows:
No.1 Mr. Amnuay Yuttitham—He used Facebook, Tiktok, advertising spots on
radio, campaign speech, advertising truck, poll for opinion, canvassers who are the

leaders of the communities, village health volunteers, market women, religious leaders

(imam), Vinyl banners and billboard cut-outs.
No.2 Ms. Kanokporn Dechdecho—She used advertising truck, Vinyl banners, door

knocking, doing activities with communities, Facebook fan page, canvassers who are

members of local political parties, subdistrict headmen, village headmen, women
groups, youth groups from schools and village health volunteers.

No.3 Mr. Anan Thong-Un—He used Vinyl banners, cut outs, advertising truck,
page, radio spot, Facebook, self-introduction song, speech stage, election area visits to

explain his policies and to ask people’s opinion, canvassers who are members of local
political parties, subdistrict headmen and village headmen.

And No. 7 Mr. Pichai Boonyakiat—He used parade cars in the election areas,

Facebook page, Vinyl banners, cut outs, poll, speech stage, advertising trucks, election
area visits to introduce himself, door knocking, canvassers who are members of local

political parties, subdistrict headmen and village headmen, community leaders, student

leaders and market women.
From the interview and observation, it found that there was quite high
competition among the political families, especially between 2 families—Dechdecho

and Boonyakiat. Both of them are related to the national and local politics because in
this local election, the canvassers and bastion were mainly the same groups in the
national election. Compared to the previous election, it found that there was the
