Community Industry
Promoting and supporting grassroots economic development for community industry
comprises of the following guidelines:
1. Promoting external environment factors comprise of 1) policies on development
and promotion from public sector and private sector agencies; 2) innovation research and
development; 3) promotion of knowledge, local wisdom and local experts; 4) promotion of
product development and innovation.
2. Promoting internal factors comprise of 1) community leaders; 2) community capitals;
3) community participation.
3. Promotion of operation procedures comprises of 1) accessing production factors; 2)
marketing; 3) knowledge and knowledge utilization.
4. Setting outcome goals comprise of 1) creating jobs and income in the community;
2) strong economic community; 3) community welfare.
Part 2. Proposal on research outcome utilization
Grassroots economic development through the strengthening of community economy
and the capability to compete and sustainably self-reliance leading to eradicating poverty,
disparity and inequality. As such, this research proposes the following research utilization
approaches that would enable sustainable grassroots economic development.
1. Community capability development
Community capacity development by education institutes in collaboration with the
community by way of gathering community data, community knowledge, community learning
process and community innovation. Such data will serve as a database for community capacity
development and enables future community economic developments.
