Executive Summary
Argentina, Malta, and Iceland enacted and enforced gender
recognition laws in 2012, 2015, and 2019, respectively. Meanwhile,
Thailand has also initiated efforts to advance such laws across various
sectors, including political parties, civil society, and the Ministry of
Social Development and Human Security. However, social sentiment
in Thailand still lacks awareness, understanding, or clarity in supporting
gender recognition laws. Therefore, it is important to study the legal
impacts, government and private sector implementations, as well as
the rights, society, culture, and quality of life of individuals protected by
gender recognition laws in Argentina, Malta, and Iceland. This research
can be valuable for potential adaptation or advocacy of such laws in
Thai society.
This research was conducted using the method of documentary
research, primary data from legal documents, and secondary data
gathered from academic literature over the past 10 years (2012-2022).
The collected documents were organized into electronic files, translated,
and categorized according to the research objectives. The analysis was
performed by creating subtopics, main topics, and context.
