area requires an appropriate approach in accordance with the context of the area. The results of
the peace assessment contain decreased or low scores of relevant indicators and are used to
formulate the guidelines to promote peace and raise the peace score at the provincial level.
Suggestion 2: Integration of Data and Cooperation
There are 4 main indicators of peace indexes and 34 sub-component indicators. The data is
analyzed for the calculation of the indexes and the score criteria. There are many related
departments, so there are many formats and methods of storing the data, levels of continuity, and
periods of collection. Therefore, there are many relevant agencies as the sources for the analysis
of the peace indexes. However, the main agencies responsible for the peace movement should
have guidelines and mechanisms. For cooperation, there should be an oversight of data collection
with coordination for a comprehensive analysis of the peace indexes. Relevant agencies can apply
the results of the peace assessment to drive more effective and tangible work for peace.
Suggestion 3: Enhancing Knowledge and Understanding of Peace
There should be a course to enhance knowledge and understanding of peace for people of all
ages as well as government officials. The course should aim at promoting acceptance of diversity,
non-discrimination, and respect for human rights. There should be clear and concrete action plans
with the collaboration of all sectors for promoting peace and solving problems in each area. All
the mechanisms to drive the implementation must be integrated efficiently.
Recommendation 4: Impact of COVID-19 on Peace Scores
The COVID-19 situation results in economic, financial, and income inequality, followed by domestic
violence affecting the peace of the country. Due to the COVID-19 situation, short-term solutions
for peace promotion and operations must be implemented. All government agencies and relevant
sectors must work together to integrate information and jointly formulate guidelines or measures
to solve economic problems and reduce the impact of COVID-19. Measures must not violate the
fundamental rights, walks of life, and daily activities to build people’s confidence in the safety of
life and property. Peace operations should aim at the provinces with low per capita income
because people cannot adapt themselves to the changes affecting the peace scores at the
provincial level.
