the employment on tourism, I think it is moving very slowly

because we have only two main supply chains for tourism –
                 tour operations and accommodations.

In respect to tour operations, students graduated from

tourism institutions are employed to work in companies and
they turn up to be professional. They may move from one

company to other companies in the country, but they never
think to move to other ASEAN countries. On the contrary, in
respect to accommodations (or hotels), I think that Thai investors

have already gone ahead to invent their hotel business in other
ASEAN countries; especially, in CLMV countries – Cambodia,

Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam, which they do better by using
their experiences of what they have done before in Thailand.
However, employers in both sectors try to keep their employees

for life-time employment. Therefore, the employees never
                 think about moving anywhere else.

Another point that I would like to mention is tour
guides. I think that this kind of profession is still protected for
the local Thai people. To conclude, I think that the movement

of MRAs implementation on tourism still goes slowly but we
still hope and see what is going on for the better cooperation

                 among all ASEAN countries.
