Without the freer mobility mechanism, one can expect

labor shortages in economies such as Thailand and Singapore
in the future. Without MRAs or equivalent instruments, the
cases of undocumented migrants in ASEAN will be probably

increase. Subsequently, this condition will increase the number
of firms who will illegally employ irregular cross-border migrants.

Obviously, income inequalities will continue to persist across
the region without ASEAN intervention. Hence, successful
implementation of MRAs is in order and it must be soon.
