Abstract

The objectives of the study of roles and duties of the
Senate in the parliamentary system, along with the Senate’s

effectiveness in enhancing political stability and the development
of Thai democracy were (1) to study and analyze the Senate

structures of other countries as a model for enhancing political
stability and importantly contributing to democratic development;
(2) to study the development of duties and power of the Thai Senate

from the past to the present; (3) to analyze the roles of the Senate
under the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, B.E. 2560

[2017] on enhancing and developing Thailand’s political system and
democracy; and (4) to make recommendations for the development
of the power relations of the Thai Senate to be an institution that

plays an important role in enhancing and developing the strength of
Thailand’s political system and democracy. In this research study,

it was a documentary research, including focus group with relevant
people, and online form for data collection and analysis descriptively.
