                                                   Good afternoon.


                                                   I’d like to introduce our speakers in English and then
                                              later on maybe at a certain point I may be conducting the
                                              panel partly in Thai, so then we could make all the mutual
                                              understanding for the audience and our speakers.

                                                   Today, we are honored by our speakers from several
                                              organizations.  Those who are experts in peace, conflict,
                                              violence, and democracy movement in regional and local
                                              especially in Thailand.

                                                   The first one, Dr. Norbert Ropers, the one who’s sitting
                                              far on the right. He’s the Director of the Peace Resource
                                              Collaborative in Bangkok. Right now the office is located at
                                              the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University. He
                                              graduated PhD in Sociology and Political Science from Johann
                                              Wolfgang von Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Before
                                              this, he has been working, of course, right now he’s the
