2.2. ASEAN Way of Mutual Recognition on Professionals
ASEAN cooperation has its own operational mechanism,
known as the ASEAN Way, which still holds a significant
dominance in the regional cooperation habit until today. ASEAN
38
Way exists as the operational norm of the region. It refers
to the notion of a unique operational approach to dispute
settlement and regional cooperation developed by the members
of ASEAN. Where the preservation of sovereignty sits at the
39
heart of the concept, such adherence consequently results
in a development of other auxiliary principles, for instance,
non-intervention and consensus.
