Singapore’s visas for foreigners include the employment

                     pass (P pass) for skilled workers, the S pass for middle-skilled
                     foreign workers, the Work permit that is for domestic workers and
                     construction workers, and other work passes like the letter of

                     consent, the training work permit and the training employment
                     pass. P pass holders have university degrees and seek

                     professional, administrative, executive and managerial jobs.
                     There is also a Q pass; though holders of these earn smaller
                     pay, these workers hold “acceptable degrees, professional

                     qualifications or specialist skills (Yeoh, 2007). The S pass,
                     introduced in 2007, is Singapore’s points system scheme for

                     other foreign workers (Yeoh, 2007).

                             Foreigners wishing for permanent residency for
                     non-Singaporeans must obtain an entry permit, the official

                     application for Singapore permanent residence. Those
                     eligible for this entry permit are the following: spouses and

                     unmarried children (below 21 years old) of a Singaporean citizen
                     or permanent resident; aged parents of a Singaporean citizen,
                     holders of P, Q or S work passes working in Singapore; and

                     investors and entrepreneurs (Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs

                     is also enticing foreign entrepreneurs and investors through a
                     Global Investor Programme (a scheme by the Ministry of Foreign
