carefully and with great respect also for your own traditional
                   country.

In the last word, two main topics of rule of law and
democracy, I would also like to mention in international law. We
obviously have a strong tendency to favor those principles. There
is not only to the international standard to have a constitution in
our days but there is also strong argument that international law
supports many important elements of rule of law, at least to
human rights and basic rights. Also, there is indication that
democracy, at least, prefers standard model nowadays, although,
there may be a discussion more in the stage of development in
that field until nowadays. So, I do think that international
comparison is always and important thing to do. Therefore, I am
happy to be here to join this discussion and learn also more from
the discussion going on here. I think I kept the time.

                         Thank you very much.

                   Mr. Andrew Hood,
Head of International and EU Law,
                   Attorney General’s Off ice, UK:

Thank you very much, Dr. Jingjai and the organizer for
inviting me. Unlike some of other participants, it is my first time
here and I very much hope, not the last time, given the quality of
the debate we had already seen. So a huge ‘thank you’ to you and
for other distinguished colleagues, I hope it will be fascinating and
unusually on this occasion. These are very useful two days.

As I said, my role as a juror at the moment, I am the legal
advisor number 10 down the street to our Prime Minister. I am
also the head of International and EU Law at the Attorney
General’s Office who is the chief legal advisor to our government.

On this occasion, as always, it is a very much personal
comments, not ones of the government, but I do hope I can bring
a little bit of my practical experience. I am not a professor. I am
not even an academic. But I am someone who works with
