This research is divided into eight chapters:
Chapter 1 explains the object and purpose of this research,
as well as expected outcome, scope and duration of this research.
Chapter 2 explores concepts and theories relating to
torture and enforced disappearance under both the human rights
framework and the criminal law framework.
Chapter 3 discusses the substantive aspects of the
international obligations under CAT Convention and CED
Convention, including formulating definitions and criminalization
of the acts of torture and enforced disappearance.
Chapter 4 discusses the procedural aspect of the
international obligations under CAT Convention and CED
Convention, including fact-finding and investigation, guarantee of the
rights the accused, victim and witness protection, and compensation.
Chapter 5 discusses other aspects of the international
obligations under CAT Convention and CED Convention, including
extradition, mutual assistance in criminal matters, and other
obligations aiming to meet the obligation to fulfil by enhancing
the enjoyment of human rights.
