62 Siam - Rising Sun Under King Prajadhipok
The second visit from 6-10 April, 1931 A.D.
According to the official announcement of Siam, His Majesty’s
visit as Head of Siam to the United States from 1930 A.D. to 1931 A.D. as of
March 14, 1930 A.D., included Japan, Canada, and the United States.
His Majesty King Prajadhipok and Her Majesty Queen Rambai
Barni left Shanghai in the morning of April 4 and arrived in Kobe on April 6.
On April 6, His Majesty King Prajadhipok and Her Majesty Queen
Rambai Barni arrived at Kobe Port at 7.30 am, and Consul and Deputy
Consuls of Siam in Osaka, Count Yoshinori Futara with Japanese scouts
who had visited Siam, monks, and Buddhists from Nagoya, graciously
were present at the arrival.
On April 7, at noon, His Majesty King Prajadhipok and Her Majesty
Queen Rambai Barni arrived at Yokohama Port. Deputy Chancellor of
Royal Court Ministry, and Deputy Governor were present at the arrival.
Then, His Majesty and Her Majesty Queen Rambai Barni and the delegation
boarded a special train to Tokyo and arrived Tokyo Station in the afternoon
with the formal welcome by Prince Chichibunomiya and Princess Chichibu
(his wife), Chancellor of Royal Court Ministry, and Chancellor of Foreign
Affairs Ministry along with one regiment of royal guards in a standing
line. The Japanese government arranged for His Majesty and Her Majesty
Queen Rambai Barni to stay at Kasumikaseki Palace.
On April 8 at 9.40 am, His Majesty King Prajadhipok and
Her Majesty Queen Rambai Barni visited Emperor Hirohito (Emperor
Showa) and Empress Kojun at Imperial Palace.
