การประชุมวิชาการ
                                                                                   สถาบันพระปกเกล้า ครั้งที่ 24
                                                                                    ความท้าทายของความมั่นคงใหม่กับประชาธิปไตย

particularly the dimension of military security, liberal democracy, and free trade. In

this context, the article examines this approach through three scenarios. These
include 1) the UK’s support for Ukraine in the case of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
in 2022; 2) the UK’s engagement in the ‘AUKUS’ Partnership; and 3) the UK’s
cooperation in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific

Partnership or CPTPP. The article argues that British foreign policy has consistently
been characterised by a global approach, due mostly to imperial legacies, in order
to achieve national interests. The UK government thus promotes its position in
democratic leadership through a new alliance of free trade, military security, and

humanitarian aid under the concept of ‘Global Britain’. The UK, in particular,
prioritises national interests and opposes authoritarian and dictatorial regimes.
