                                        Conclusion

The relationship between Siam and Japan has been continued
since the Ayutthaya period, or for hundreds of years, as seen on the

evidence revealing the roles of the royal court of Siam. The relationship
between the two countries was interrupted with Japan’s shutdown policy

called “Sakoku” and the loss of Ayutthaya Kingdom for the second time.
In the Rattanakosin period, the relationship was officially restored in
the reign of King Chulalongkorn with the “Declaration on Royal Amity

and Trade between Siam and Japan” on September 26, 1887 A.D.
In addition to the diplomatic relationship and trades at the time,

the friendship between the two royal families grew differently from that
in the past where the focus was on trades only.
