Adjunct Prof. Catherine Morris

Catherine Morris, BA, JD, LLM, is an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Law and
the Faculty of Human and Social Development at the University of Victoria (UVic),
Canada. She is also an Associate of UVic’s Centre for Asia Pacific Initiatives
(CAPI). She is the managing director of Peacemakers Trust, a non-profit
organization for research and education on peacebuilding and conflict transformation.
Professor Morris teaches negotiation, dispute resolution, peacebuilding, and
international human rights in academic, governmental, and non-governmental
settings. She was a regular visiting professor in the LLM program at the Faculty of
Law, Chulalongkorn University from 2002 to 2016. She has regularly visited
Thailand since 1994 where she has taught courses or made presentations on topics
related to conflict resolution, reconciliation, and participatory policy making, including
educational workshops in Bangkok, Khon Kaen, Hatyai and Pattani. Her international
work has also included short-term assignments in Cambodia (regularly since 1995),
as well as Bolivia, Honduras, Myanmar, Rwanda and Europe. Her publications and
papers include works on dispute resolution, religion and peacebuilding, international
human rights, and reconciliation.
