                     was jointly published by the ILO and the UP Press in 2010.
                     He also edited the DOLE’s history book, Balik-Tanaw, Bagong
                     Pananaw: 75 years of DOLE, published in 2010.  He is a seven-

                     time recipient of the UP’s “International Publication” Award
                     and two-time awardee of the “UP Centennial Professor” Award.


                             In 1995 - 96, Dr. Ofreneo joined a small group of re-
                     search professionals who backstopped the peace negotiation
                     efforts of the Office of the Executive Secretary with the Moro

                     National Liberation Front (MNLF).  His task in the group was to
                     outline the socio-economic issues in the MNLF areas.


                             Dr. Ofreneo has been an active advocate of a people-
                     centered ASEAN.   He edited the   Manual on Good Industrial
                     Relations Practices, which was published in 2013 by the ASEAN/

                     ILO-Japan Bilateral-Multilateral IR Project based in Bangkok.
                     He contributed the chapter on “Social Dialogue and Industrial

                     Relations” in the book Labour Laws and Practices in ASEAN
                     (2013), a joint publication of the ASEAN Secretariat, Association
                     of Trade Union Employees Council, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung

                     and the Ministry of Labor of Vietnam.   As a Consultant in the
                     World Bank’s 2013 Report on “More and Better Jobs” in the

                     Philippines, he wrote the background papers on how to man-
                     age the contentious issues of “labor outsourcing” and how to
                     reduce the huge compulsory arbitration backlogs in dispute

                     settlement.
