Even digital technology is beneficial to humanity in promoting democracy and

political participation, nevertheless it is double edged sword. It also has negative

consequences from misusing. As a Thai and a global citizen, knowing and being able

to use digi tal technology is not enough, but we also need to have digitally literacy

since it has both positive and negative impacts on people. Nevertheless, many

people use the internet without caution and have less consideration about digital

developments which may lead the danger to oneself, society, and the nation. For

instance, sharing personal information without enough protection may lead to

being a target for scammers, trusting information generated by Artificial

Intelligence (AI) without thinking, searching and downloading data that contains

malwares, spying on political activities of citizens or political group etc. Those

activities would affect many dimensions of human rights which include public safety,

privacy and people’s participation which would affect quality of democracy in the

long term.
